Where to begin...

Yes, we are still here. It has been a long time since we've filled you in on our lives. Part of the reason is that I know posts without pictures are sometimes boring, and I have no pictures. I have a lot to say, so let me just begin where I left off...CONGRATS LADY JACKETS! You all know how proud I am of that team, so I had to say it again!
Let's see, Kevin and I were given a wonderful gift from Ross and Connie and Rod and Julie for Christmas, they flew us to California to spend the weekend with Kevin's aunt and uncle, two cousins, their wives and their 7 children! We had a WONDERFUL time. We stayed at Shaver Lake at a cabin owned by FPU. We got to play in the snow, take lots of walks, talk about all kinds of things and EAT like we have never eaten before. I do not have pictures because Kevin and I didn't bring our camera. I know, I know, when I have a child I cannot be forgetting my camera, I promise I'll be better by then. So, Rod and Julie made us a CD and are sending it and I will post pictures as soon as it gets here.
We got home from California and it was Spring Break. Ahhhh! I got to relax. It was amazing! Kevin had to work (normal jobs don't get spring break), but with me not working at night we were able to hang out. The Swanson's house was finished and escrow closed on March 16, so with paint rollers in hand I set out to help them paint their house before all the furniture was moved in. I didn't help a whole lot, but I was able to help a little. Priscilla did a wonderful job picking the colors for their house, it looks awesome.
I bet you are wondering, Allison, why are you showing us a picture of your treadmill? Well, that is where the Swanson's bed used to be. On Monday, March 19 the McNeely-Swanson communal living era came to an end. It was a little sad. I came home Monday after work, Kevin was working out of town and Aaron came by to get the last of their stuff and then I was totally alone. It was a strange feeling. As I left the front room to go to bed I said outloud, "I'm going to bed...if anyone wants to know."
Um, that's just to let you know that Kevin is still around. I know ya'll like to see pictures and so here he is.
Ok, so we're now almost up to date. Ethan turned three last Friday and as any good aunt and uncle would do we bought him a fish tank! Yes, we are the people who buy gifts that end up making the parents work harder than the child. It's just a small tank, very low maintenance. Today we took him to pick out his fish and he chose two Tiger Barbs. Getting a 3 year old to name fish was very interesting. We finally came up with Dalton and Aiden. Aaron's good friend is Dalton and his son (Ethan's friend) is Aiden, Kevin and I approved of his choice so it's done. Again, no pictures...sorry.
One more thing. I have been supporting the Houston Texans since I moved here in 2001. That was their inaugural year and they made the best #1 pick anyone could have made. David Carr (originally from Bakersfield, Ca and once the star of the Fresno State Bulldogs) has been the QB of the Texans from the beginning. He has put up with a terrible offensive line, no good running backs and a weak defense all to get blamed for their terrible record. Well, here's what I have to say (not that anyone cares, but this is my blog) David Carr will go to another team, he will start as QB, he will succeed and the Texans will continue to lose because they just gave up one of the best quarterbacks in the league.
I hereby renounce my support of the Houston Texans. My new team will be announced later (shortly after David Carr signs with a new team!).

STATE CHAMPS!!!

Yes, you read it right. The Rockwall Lady Jackets are the 5A State Champs! Even more unbelievable was that they had a perfect season 40-0! Even more unbelievable than that is that they had to beat an undefeated team to do that! I cannot tell you how emotionally packed the game was. I can't even type fast enough to tell you how excited and energized the crowd was. Did I mention that there were 10,000 people there watching the game. No, that is not a type-o, that is a 1 follwed by four zeros!!! UNREAL!

Here is an article in the Dallas Morning News!
Here is an article from the Austin Statesman.
Here is an article from the Houston Chronicle (Cy-Fair is in the Houston area)

I cannot say enough about this game. Two undefeated teams playing for a championship. This had NEVER happened before. There are only 12 undefeated teams in the state of Texas that have won a championship, and only 2 to go 40-0...NOW THERE ARE 3!!! I wish I could invite everyone over to watch the game on TV, it was broadcast live and as soon as I got home I watched it again. Watching it for a second time was much more enjoyable since I knew the outcome. I have to say that the girls on this team are incredible. They are good kids with hearts of gold (get it, GOLD!). I can't even begin to tell you how much respect I have for the coaching staff of this team. It has been an honor to work with them and I am truly grateful to have been on this journey with them.

If you look here you should be able to see some pictures from the game.

CONGRATULATIONS LADY JACKETS ON YOUR PERFECT SEASON!!!
