Breakfast Baseball

Yesterday morning I made some coffee, sat in a comfortable chair, put me feet up and watched some baseball...live.
The Swingin A's were playing the Red Sox in Tokyo, Japan that night, or the previous night, or is it the night yet to come?  Either way, it was really cool to get up at 6 AM to see a real regular season game in the morning.  They had played the day before, but somehow I did not know about it.
So the A's and Red Sox have played 2 regular season games when nobody else will play until monday.
The most unstable thing is that the A's head back across the Pacific to play a three game spring training series against the Giants (losers) before starting, I mean re-starting their regular season on Tuesday against the Red Sox.
For all of you who check out our blog for all things baby, I'm sorry to disappoint, I just needed to hit the sports page.
Have good.

An Easter tradition

HAPPY EASTER!

Growing up this song was played every Easter morning, usually loud enough so all the neighbors could hear.  It was not played just once, but over and over, and none of us ever got enough.  Turn it up and enjoy!

He's ALIVE!

another year...

This year we didn't "plan" andy type of birthday celebration, but the weekend turned out to be one of my favorite birthdays.  The Crawfords came up to meet Kate Swanson, so we chose this opportunity to turn it into a birthday weekend as well.
Friday night I worked late, so we didn't do anything, but we were given some fantastic news, Kay is pregnant!!!  #2 will be arriving in early November.  This was such great news for many reasons, but I loved the fact that we are going to be pregnant together.  She is due about 6 weeks after me, so this should be fun!
Saturday we woke up and went out to breakfast at Cracker Barrel, a favorite of mine.  After that we packed a picnic lunch and headed to the park.  It was a great day, a little windy but sunny and beautiful.  The Swansons met us there, so this was my official party, complete with a birthday cake.  The boys fished and played football while the girls hung out and talked.
That evening after church we went to Marlo's House, the Mennonite restaurant we like to visit.  We took the whole crew, and we did not go unnoticed.  The people who own the restaurant are very friendly and it is a "feel at home" type of place, so it was perfect.  Everyone was very happy with their meals, and we left very full.
Sunday started with homemade breakfast tacos.  Kevin and Aaron went bike riding while I went to church to teach my class and Kay and Carolina had a low key morning at the house.  The Crawfords headed back home after lunch and Kevin and I just enjoyed the rest of the day at home.
It was a great weekend.  We are so grateful to have friends who we just enjoy hanging out with.  It doesn't matter what we are doing, it's always fun.  I was able to count my blessings this year in so many ways.  Our great friends, their fabulous children, including a newborn, the new little one that we are waiting for and another life that our friends have been entrusted with.  We are all so blessed!!!
