Weekend in New Braunfels

Kevin and I got to spend this past weekend at a bed and breakfast in New Braunfels, TX.  We love to visit this part of Texas.  There are rivers and lakes, shopping and great places to eat.  It is a very popular destination for Texans, and we could really tell this weekend.  We typically don't go during the summer, and we probably never will again.  It was really crowded and the trip there and back was horrible.  Anyway, we had a wonderful time.  Here are some pictures of the Lamb's Rest Inn!

It was located right on the river.  We were staying with the Crawfords so Kevin and Aaron took advantage of the close water and went fishing right from the property.  We did a horrible job of taking pictures, so I really don't have much to show you.  Sorry!

We went to a concert by the Derailers (one of our favorite Texas Country bands) on Friday night.  Kay and I enjoyed a prenatal massage while Kevin and Aaron went fishing on Saturday morning.  Saturday afternoon Kay and I went shopping, and Kevin and Aaron went fishing.  We had a wonderful dinner Saturday night, but everyone got a little too full.  Sunday morning we packed up and headed to a great park called Landa Park and walked around a little until it was too hot.

We had a great time!  We kind of look at it like our last hoorah before we have children.  The Crawfords were celebrating their 10 year anniversary, and we were so excited to share the weekend with them.

Drumroll please...

9/18/08

That is the day our baby will be born!  This is so exciting.  Our doctor picked the day, I felt like there was still a little bit of surprise that way, I know, it's silly.  The c-section is scheduled for noon on that day, so as long as everything stays on schedule our baby will be born just after 12pm on 9/18.

Let the countdown begin...

The McNeely visit

So the McNeelys have headed back to California.  Well, Ross is still here until Saturday, kind of a confusing explanation, so I won't bore you.  Anyway, we had a wonderful time this entire week.  We made sure we did some fun stuff and we also just hung out at home so we could be with each other.  Here are some pictures from their stay.Lindsey loves to trade "hats" with Uncle!Of course there was at least one night when video games were the entertainment of choice.  Julie's brother, Tim, joined us for a few nights from Austin. Here we are out in front of a restaurant called Babe's.  It is known for it's fried chicken, how can you come to Texas without eating something fried!  It is a family style restaurant.  You choose your meat; fried chicken, chicken fingers, smoked chicken, baby back ribs, or fried catfish...between all of us we had at least one of each!  They bring out salad, biscuits, green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and creamed corn for everyone.  Yummy, we left full and had tons of leftovers.
Alyssa and Lindsey LOVED talking to, hugging and poking their cousin.  Both of them got to feel our baby move and the looks on their faces were priceless.  Alyssa was all about loving and hugging and talking so sweet and Lindsey got very good at find just where the baby was laying.
This is a picture at the Dallas Arboretum.  It was such a pretty place.  I worried that during the summer it may not be very nice, but I was wrong.  We walked around for 3 hours.  Although it was VERY hot, we enjoyed it and plan to go back during the spring.
Here is one more picture from Jason and Seana's wedding.

We had such a great time.  We kept busy, and enjoyed every minute we had with each other.  We definitely don't get enough time, but I am happy to say that we make the most of the time we do get.  Thank you Ross, Connie, Rod, Julie, Alyssa and Lindsey for coming to our home and sharing part of your summer with us.  We know the Texas heat is not very inviting, but we hope you enjoyed your stay as much as we enjoyed having you!!!

Delivery date

Since our delivery date will be chosen for us I thought I would out up a poll now.  On Monday our doctor should be scheduling my c-section, so we will know when this baby is coming!  We were told it will be 7-10 days before my due date, and my official due date is 9/27.  Just wanted one more poll for everyone enjoy.

What a weekend!

It all started on Thursday evening when the whole McNeely clan, Ross, Connie, Rod, Julie, Alyssa and Lindsey, got here.  Friday was the rehearsal and dinner for Jason and Seana's wedding.  We had a wonderful Italian meal and NONE of us left there hungry.
Kevin, Rod and Randy Dueck got up early Saturday morning and played a round of golf.  They had a great time!  They got home just in time to get showered and head over to the wedding for all the pictures.

Here is one of the cutest pictures of the day!  Jason and his two beautiful flower girls!
Apparently I am TERRIBLE at taking pictures during a wedding reception.  I had such a hard time getting a good picture, sorry.   Here is the happy couple's first dance.  Seana was gorgeous, and Jason was ALL smiles.  The reception was SO fun!!!!
Again with the bad wedding photography.  This was on their way out of the reception.  They were looking the other way, and I took the picture anyway.  Oh well, sorry!
We have had so much fun already, and we are all very tired to prove it.  Julie's brother Tim came up from Austin on Saturday for the wedding and has been hanging out with us since then. We have had a great time!

Today we are going to the Dallas Arboretum to look at all the pretty gardens, then plan on spending the rest of the day in the pool.  Tuesday we have some shopping and putt putt on our agenda.  Wednesday we plan on spending at a water park, and by the time Thursday rolls around we may make it to the Science museum if we have any energy left.  I'll post pictures of all of our events along the way.  I will also probably put some more of the wedding up, but they won't be my pictures, someone else will get the credit!
