SCOREBOARD

First, let me correct an error and make a clarification. Garland was number 9 in the State and 7 in the area. Rockwall, although 1-2 was number 18 in the area. As for why this game matters to Rockwall's record: Only district games count toward playoffs. We appologize for not stating that, we just assume that everyone understands Texas High School Football.

Now for the game. At halftime the Garland Owls had a 24-12 lead. They looked like they were in control, until...Rockwall intercepts a pass on the first drive of the second half deep in Owl territory. The Jackets punched it in for a touchdown to make it 24-19. Next drive for Garland: 3 and out. Rockwall- another touchdown (27-24 after 2 point conversion). The Angry Orange defense took over and the district favorite goes down at home 27-24.

Rockwall is now 2-2 overall and 1-0 in disctrict 10-5A. In my opinion, the winner of this game will win the district. We'll see how Rockwall plays out the rest of their season as the team to beat. For now, we will celebrate being number 1 and soon to be approaching the top 10 in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area. Let's all look at the Scoreboad!

looks like the Jackets responded very strong after a severe beating in the previous game. great care has to be taken in not having a let down against weaker teams on the schedule. thanks for a great game report and all the clarification of a complicated play off system. at least there is a play off, the longhorns might not have been champions if they had to play some other real teams in a playoff. 54
