Good friends

We've got the best friends in the whole world. They have been here working hard since the arrived. We truly appreciate them and all their input and hard work! These are our friends Kay Ellen and Aaron Crawford.

A lot was accomplished today.
The dry wall is up and there is one coat of mud on it.

Our "nephew" Ethan had a good time helping Berber (Kevin is referred to as Uncle Spare and somehow that turned into Berber).
There is some tile laid but there is a slight problem...

WE'VE GOT TERMITES! The kind that eat through your foundation before they get to your house. It's lovely! So, we have someone coming out on Tuesday to tell us whether we can treat the area or if we have to have the house tented. WOW! Now I am freaking out! On the bright side we have walls and it looks better than we expected.

Progress?

Here is the latest on the weekend project. Aaron Swanson got here this morning and the work began. Jason arrived later due to an electrical problem (I've been told it's only minor, but I didn't think a minor problem would take all day to fix!). And Aaron Crawford got here this afternoon for some extra hands. It is almost time for church and I am wondering if we will make it. We do have dry wall up, so that is a good thing.

We have purchased tile so the idea is that we will be able to lay it tomorrow in between taping and mudding the walls (I don't even know if that makes sense). I'll let you know how it's going.

The walls are coming down

Today was a busy day at our house. Kevin had the day off (he gets a four day weekend for Memorial Day and Labor Day, not too bad!) so I took the day off, just for fun. Kevin spent the day doing damage. I'll do my best to explain what is going on. We had a tankless water heater installed on Monday. This was very exciting to Kevin who loves to be energy efficient and environmentally friendly.

Having that installed meant we could get rid of the hot water heater closet that is in the laundry room, which meant that I could have a larger laundry room with a little extra work. So, we knocked down a few walls.

As you can see it is not very pretty, and to be completely honest it makes me a little nervous. I know Kevin knows what he is doing...he was raised by the do-it-yourself king, Ross...but that's also what makes me nervous.

Our friends Aaron and Kay are coming into town for the weekend so Aaron will help Kevin finish this project. Kay and I are in charge of picking out new tile for the floor and paint for the walls. I hope that in a day or two I will be able to post the finished product and everyone can be amazed...just like I will be!

We're trying to keep up

Here is our very first blog posting. We have been motivated by our friends the Wiens and the Macks to start our own blog. So here it is. As you can see by our address "we got nuthin" We have no cute kids to take pictures of and we have no exciting adventures...we just live in Texas. We will try to make it exciting and keep everyone up to date on all of the "nuthin" going on in our lives! Oh, as for the title, Kevin is convinced that Garland, TX is just like Fresno, CA!

Since we have no kids we will only bore you with pictures of our animals one time. This will be the first and only pictures you will see of them.

Here is Angelica and Abigail

here is Maggie,

and here we are!
