CA trip, part 1

We have a lot to share, so here it goes!

We left on May 5th for a 12 day trip to California, complete with a visit to the mountains and to Disneyland. The kids got new suitcases for the occasion, and much to my surprise they were SO happy to pull them along with us.

Our first stop was Fresno. Papa Ross and Grandma Connie were waiting at the airport for us after our flight got delayed and we arrived very late Thursday night.

The following day we headed up to Hume Lake with Papa, Grandma, Uncle Rod, Auntie Julie and cousins Alyssa and Lindsey. What a treat! The Steinert cabin recently went through a renovation, but it was more like a complete rebuild. We were so grateful to be one of the first official guests of the new and improved "chalet."

Kevin took the kids fishing one morning and we found out that our Macey is a natural.

Back in Fresno Papa, Daddy and Uncle Rod showed Xander the McNeely family tradition of croquet. He was semi interested, but as with most things, he didn't last very long.

Macey and Xander got to got to the zoo with Papa and Grandma, while I went to visit my sister in Modesto and Kevin did some work. Since we didn't go, we have no pictures, but it included a trip to In-n-Out on their way home, which was a big hit!

Kevin joined the North Fresno Church softball team on Monday night for a game, which made him sore for days (wait, maybe I wasn't supposed to share that part). After the game we enjoyed pizza with some of our friends in town, it's never long enough, but the time is sure cherished.

Our last night there Papa made homemade chocolate ice cream with m-n-m's! YUMMY!

And to top it all off, the next morning for breakfast, the kids put ice cream on their waffles! Special breakfast at Papa's, always a treat!!!

Our time in Fresno and Hume Lake was so wonderful. We have SO many pictures, it is hard to pick a few to post here. Macey and Xander LOVE, LOVE, LOVE their cousins Alyssa and Lindsey. And their cousins are such wonderful "big" cousins to them, taking care of them at every opportunity.
