McNeely Road Trip Adventure, Day 2

I won't bore you by saying how great my kids travel, but they do, and I am proud of them!  Ok, I'm done, that's the last you'll hear of it.

We headed out early because our plan was to stop in Albuquerque, NM and get out and visit a zoo and botanical garden.  So we left the hotel by 8am.
Day 2

A Wells Fargo add, made a cute photo op in Tucumcari, NM, our first pit stop

Our plan was to visit the zoo and botanical gardens, but by the time we finished eating lunch we did not have enough time to do both.  We opted for the zoo since there was a train ride, and we had been talking about a train all day.  It was a good choice, the zoo in Albuquerque was great.  We did not get to see everything, but it was nice and there was plenty to do if you had a whole day.

 Sea lions!

They were very excited to see a snake, but wanted to keep a safe distance (I was ok with that)

After the zoo the kids were done, just like we had hoped.  They slept almost the entire way to Gallup, which is where we are staying tonight.  Right next to the hotel is a playground, so we headed over there so burn so more energy.  Kevin took the kids for a quick dip in the hotel pool, but it was kind green, and cold, so it didn't last long.

Sleeping has been the hardest part of the trip.  The kids are sleeping a lot in the car, and sometimes their naps get a little late into the afternoon, which means they are up later at night.  They are not in their normal beds, so it makes things a little tougher.  We'll make it, I think each night will get easier, well, that's my encouragement to myself anyway!

Tomorrow we're going to see some Indian ruins in Flagstaff, AZ and then we're staying in Las Vegas!
