Here are some more pictures of finished rooms! I told you, it's slow going around here, but we'll get there.
Macey and Lyla's room turned out SO cute! Macey picked the paint colors and then we just filled in the rest. The bedding was the same as in her other bedroom, the day bed was a hand-me-down from a friend's parents, and voila! A super cute room for some super cute girls!
The entry way in our house is large, it needed some decor, more than a wall hanging. I first thought I was going to put an entry table, then maybe a padded bench, then while shopping I found a small dresser and just had to have it. A long time ago I heard decorator Nate Burkus say that you should buy something if you like it and then find a place for it. So, in a moment that I like to call channeling my inner Nate Burkus, we bought that piece and went from there. My mom was here, so it was much easier to take that leap since she has an eye for decorating. Then we managed to find other pieces along our shopping adventure that made the whole scene perfect!
The guest room is just off of the kitchen/living room area. So it is seen by everyone, so it needed to be simple and nice. My mom knows my love for purple and decided that it was a good choice for the guest room. When you give Charlotte a project she is a woman on a mission. By the time her week visit was over the guest room was almost done. Yes, I said almost because it is lacking a desk and dresser, but it does have a new flat screen TV! Anyone need a place to stay?
Finally is my original art piece that hangs above our kitchen table. Thanks to the creativity of my sister... Can I just take a moment to explain something, as you have noticed in my recent posts I have an extremely hard-working and talented sister, a mom who must have been an interior decorator in her past life and a very creative sister. I was given all of these people in my family because I was not given ANY of those gifts, so thankfully they are willing to share their genius with me! :)
Anyway, back to my art. I chose my favorite colors, a few different methods of painting (different brushed and hands) and ended up with some original art pieces that would certainly be sold for millions if auctioned!
Of course, the "missing" piece in the middle is being saved for Lyla...hopefully it won't be blank for much longer.

You channeled your inner Nate very well. Love the dresser! And it is very easy to see which art piece each child did...perfectly placed colors with room for all means Macey, and haphazard and "free form" means Xander :) Your house is really coming together nicely!
Too cute! I want your sister to come work on my house:)
I love it ALL! I'm praying that I'll get to come see it soon.
