Let me just take a minute to say, I am SO grateful for a super supportive church that understands that there can be exceptions to the rules. They knew our family so well that they already knew we would want Lyla to be able to stay with me. I am so thankful for people who are sensitive to the uniqueness of how Lyla joined our family and the needs she may have.
So, the plan was to have Lyla in our class the first day so she could see what VBS was all about and then give her the choice to join the oldest 5 year olds for the rest of the week. Well, she loved it, but she didn't want to be away from me. If I'm being totally honest, I don't think she wanted to be away from Macey!
Lyla got to help me decorate our classroom door, this was our final product!
Of course, we were always the first one's there so the first activity of the day was a color page!
Their favorite station was the singing. This was after the singing when the awesome song leader brought out puppets who entertained the kids and sang silly songs!
Last day!!!!
A lot of learning took place at VBS this year, or "Biblecation" as Macey calls it. Hopefully some by my kids, but I think most of it was by me! I learned that it is not easy to have all 3 of your kids in a class you are teaching. Um, let's just say it won't be happening again any time soon. :) I also learned that since Lyla is around 3 year olds all the time, she just might be picking up 3 year old behaviors... So, when necessary, Mama will be joining Lyla in a class full of kids her age! ;)
